A Design Doubletake

One of the great joys we have had over the COVID season is to help a local business. Doubletake Salon does phenomenal hairstyling at a reasonable price, yet their image has been lacking and hurt business even before the epidemic began. Seeing the potential this salon has with a wonderful location in Reston, Virginia and such talented staff, we worked with their manager, Chau Bui, to see how we could take them to the next level.

While businesses were closed, we took advantage of the lockdown to help Chau reorganize the salon, giving suggestions for how to make the location all that more inviting. We’ve also been coaching the team with new ways to collaborate and do business. One of the biggest undertakings, however, has been the redesign of their website.

Doubletake Salon has been recognized by Yelp and Google with wonderful reviews through the years. Yet if you were to look at their website, it didn’t tell the same story. Sadly, with a drab, uninviting identity, the site had the potential to turn customers away. You really couldn’t grasp the beauty of this gem of a salon, and potential clientele were missing out on a great opportunity. Having a strong web presence really does matter. And so redesigning the Doubletake site was a top priority for us as we revamped their image. It goes hand-in-hand with the wonderful work Doubletake does for their own clients. They make people look and feel their best, so they have the confidence to do great things. We were doing the same thing for Doubletake.

In our approach to the site, we didn’t change the architecture. We still kept the main focus on their Services, their Location, and About Doubletake as a whole. But we did give it a massive facelift and developed new content. You’ll see by the samples on this page that we were able to take their image from something that quite simply doesn’t do them justice, to one that shines and shows who they are. The new website is full of quality and professionalism, it’s inviting and conveys the true identity of the store. Now, when patrons go to the Doubletake website, they’re going to have to take a second look. This is not the salon they were used to, and we are excited that it’s already bringing in new results!
